How We Rescued a Website That Was Invisible to Google and Generated 2,580 Clicks in 6 Months
Transform Borders had been paying agencies that left their site blocked from Google entirely. We fixed the damage, rebuilt the site from scratch, and turned it into a lead generation engine.

Transform Borders is a Singapore-based immigration consultancy founded by Sulochana Uthirapathi. They help individuals and businesses navigate Singapore PR applications, citizenship applications, work passes, EntrePass applications, appeals for entry, and more.
When Sulochana first reached out to SEO With Senthil in late 2024, her situation was dire. She had been paying a web development agency a monthly fee to maintain her website. But instead of maintaining the site properly, the agency had created a web of problems that left Transform Borders completely invisible on Google.
The website wasn’t just underperforming. It was blocked from being crawled by Google entirely. Even searching “Transform Borders” on Google returned nothing. For a business that relies on online visibility to attract clients, this was catastrophic.
SEO Challenges That Were Destroying Transform Borders’ Online Presence
1. Website completely blocked from Google crawling
The previous developer had placed ‘noindex’, ‘nofollow’, and ‘none’ meta tags in the site’s HTML code, which told Google not to crawl or index the website at all. This meant the entire site was invisible to search engines. Even SEMrush’s site audit tool could not crawl the website because of these directives.
2. Zero domain authority
Transformborders.com had no backlinks pointing to it, giving the site zero Domain Authority. Without third-party sites vouching for its credibility, Google had little reason to rank it. Meaning even good content would struggle to compete against mediocre content.
3. Broken SSL certificate
The www version of the website was showing a “Your connection is not private” error. This meant visitors accessing http://www.transformborders.com were being warned that the site was unsafe. This would be a dealbreaker for trust in an immigration consultancy.
4. Broken sitemap that Google couldn’t fetch
The XML sitemap submitted to Google Search Console had not been successfully fetched since December 2022. The status showed “Couldn’t fetch” with zero discovered pages and zero discovered videos. Google literally had no map of the website.
5. Buggy Oxygen theme causing mobile and desktop issues
The website was built on the Oxygen page builder, which was causing numerous bugs, mobile optimisation issues, and desktop layout problems. Sections were out of alignment, and the theme itself was being phased out by its developers, meaning it would only get worse over time.
6. 81 blog posts with broken images, missing titles, and no SEO strategy
The site had 81 blog posts, but they had no coherent SEO plan behind them. Many had multiple broken images, missing title tags, and missing meta descriptions. The sheer volume of low-value content was adding bloat to the site without contributing anything to rankings.
7. 42 broken internal images and broken links
A SEMrush site audit revealed 42 broken internal images, 2 pages returning 4XX status codes, and 2 broken internal links. The site health score was critically low with 49 errors, 293 warnings, and 115 notices.
8. Hosting locked to the previous developer
The website hosting had been moved from GoDaddy to the website developer’s own servers without Sulochana’s knowledge. This meant she was paying a monthly fee for hosting that was under someone else’s control, and cancelling the subscription would take the website offline entirely.
What We Did
1Removed all crawl-blocking directives
We identified and removed the ‘noindex’, ‘nofollow’, and ‘none’ meta tags that were preventing Google from crawling and indexing the website. This single fix was the most critical. Without it, nothing else would have mattered.
2Fixed the broken SSL certificate
We resolved the SSL certificate mismatch so that both transformborders.com and http://www.transformborders.com loaded securely without browser warnings. This restored trust for visitors and removed a significant ranking penalty.
3Rebuilt the entire website from scratch
We moved Transform Borders off the buggy Oxygen theme and recreated every single page from scratch. This included the home page, service pages and all blog posts. The new website was fully mobile optimised and built on a sustainable theme that wouldn’t cause issues in the future.
4Took over admin access and migrated hosting
We changed the WordPress admin email from the developer’s email to Sulochana’s control. We then migrated the entire website from the developer’s hosting to GoDaddy’s managed WordPress hosting, saving Sulochana significant costs and giving her full ownership of her website for the first time.
5Fixed DNS and email issues caused by the migration
When the previous developer’s hosting was cancelled, it caused the website to go offline and broke Sulochana’s business email addresses. We worked with GoDaddy to resolve all DNS propagation issues, restore the website, and reconfigure the MX records to get business emails working again.
6Cleaned up all technical SEO issues
We fixed all 42 broken images, repaired broken links, resolved 4XX status code errors, and submitted a fresh XML sitemap to Google Search Console. The site health score improved from 80% with 49 errors to 89% with zero errors.
Site Health: Before vs After
7Audited and cleaned up the blog library
We went through all 81 blog posts and identified the ones that were irrelevant, duplicated, or ranking for nothing. Irrelevant posts were deleted and redirected cleanly to the most relevant service pages. Remaining posts were updated with proper title tags, meta descriptions, and fixed images.
8Implemented schema markups and on-page SEO
We built and deployed organisation schema and structured data across the site. Every service page was optimised with proper keyword targeting, meta descriptions, and internal linking.
9Created high-quality content targeting immigration keywords
We researched and created content targeting the specific keywords that potential clients in Singapore were searching for. These content pieces covered everything from PR applications to citizenship requirements and everything in between. Transform Borders now ranks number 4 for “apply for PR in Singapore” and “how to apply for PR in Singapore,” sitting just below ICA, MFA, and Gov.sg, the highest-ranking private immigration consultancy for these keywords.
10Published client case studies targeting long-tail keywords
We created in-depth case studies documenting real client success stories, each one mapped to a specific long-tail keyword that potential clients were actively searching for. For an immigration consultancy like Transform Borders, trust is a critical purchase driver. A well-told case study does what a service page can’t: it shows proof. Each case study was written to rank, build credibility, and convert readers who were even hesitant to reach out.
11Built a PR eligibility calculator tool
We designed and built an interactive PR eligibility calculator that helps potential clients assess their chances of getting Singapore PR. This tool now generates 3 to 5 qualified leads per week for Transform Borders, turning the website into an active lead generation engine.

SEMrush Organic Overview
Key Keyword Wins
The transformation is best illustrated by looking at individual keywords. In the previous 6 months, nearly all of these keywords had zero clicks and zero impressions. Now they are actively driving traffic, leads and sales:
These are high-intent keywords from people actively looking for immigration services in Singapore, exactly the kind of traffic that converts into paying clients.
